“…a meditative mashup of trippy folk-rock psychedelia, cut with a raw, Alabama flavor befitting their roots. Captivating harmony vocals and skilled, almost Nick Drake-like guitar fills complete the picture.”
— Steve Morse, longtime Boston Globe staff music writer who also taught Rock History at Berklee College of Music
“Hailing from Montgomery, Alabama, and residing in Key West, FL, EBY blends psychedelic folk, cosmic country, and vintage surf rock into a genre-bending sound they call “Real American Space Folk.” Their music draws from the rich history of 20th-century parlor guitar traditions, the cosmic curiosity of the Space Age, and the adventurous spirit of bands like Pink Floyd and The Byrds. At the heart of their sonic explorations is a belief that imagination is a powerful survival tool — and every song is a portal to a new world.
This year will feature Californian road dogs Rose’s Pawn Shop (album reviewed this week here), Southern Gothic storyteller Ben de la Cour, everyone’s favourite fiddler Chris Murphy, Canadian award-winning folk/roots master Leeroy Stagger, plus Alt-Country originators Waco Brothers (Jon Langford), Oregon’s cowpunk jug band Sassparilla, stateside space folk rockers Electric Blue Yonder, Texan barnstormers Vandoliers, the queen of Oklahoma Carter Sampson, Australia’s sun-soaked rock and rollers Big Wheels and in their only UK festival appearance, cult favourites The Jackmormons (Jerry Joseph), with more names to follow.

“EBY is a diamond-bright exploration of rock’s past, present, and hopeful future. As saviors of the genre go, they make a powerful argument that theirs is one of the few revolutions left worth signing up for…”
