Intrepid Space Folk Explorers
The BAND
Electric Blue Yonder (EBY) researches the human condition and reports its findings through harmonious song. Exploring what it means to be human while discovering the mysteries of the universe, the intrepid band of Space Folk seeks to find others of their kind. Human. Kind. Described as “Real American Space Folk,” the band draws its inspiration from the psychedelic folk, surf, and cosmic country rock of the 60s and the Space Age prog/art rock explorations of David Bowie and Pink Floyd, all while shifting time to the early roots and parlour style guitar of the 20th century. The result is a genre-bending mix that captures a nostalgic familiarity while simultaneously transporting you into uncharted territory.

ORIGINS
BetH Hataway
Vocals, Acoustic-Electric Guitar
The ethereal heart of the band, Beth Hataway’s musical identity is a blend of disciplined classical roots and a free-spirited, indie-folk soul. Her early years were defined by the structured world of symphonic music as a French horn player, a background that gifted her a unique understanding of complex melodic counterpoint. Today, she provides the melodic foundation for Electric Blue Yonder, with a vocal range that can shift from a delicate, folk-inspired whisper to a powerful, vintage-soul belt. Her songwriting often explores the intersection of the natural world and the metaphysical, acting as the primary storyteller for the band’s cosmic adventures.
JOHNNY VERES
Vocals, Lead Electric Guitar
The cosmic counterpart to Hataway, Johnny Veres brings a distinct 1960s psychedelic influence to the group. For Johnny, music has always been a way to build worlds. His early years were defined by a fascination with progressive, instrumental soundscapes and the technical intricacies of performance. However, his path took a profound turn following the loss of a close friend and musical mentor. That experience acted as a catalyst, pushing him to move beyond abstract jams and toward songwriting that explored deeper themes of existence, memory, and the "future-nostalgia" that now defines the band. His guitar work is characterized by swirling textures and surf-rock nods, while his songwriting leans into the "future" half of their retro-futurist identity.
RUSSELL THOMAS BUSH
Bass, Backing Vocals
Russell Thomas Bush provides the "gravity" for the band’s atmospheric sound, acting as the rhythmic and historical bridge within the group. His musical roots are deeply diverse, stretching from the intricate grooves of jazz to the raw, DIY energy of the regional indie-pop scene. Having shared the stage with Beth in past projects long before the "Electric" era of the band, he possesses an intuitive, almost telepathic sense of how to support her melodies. His bass lines are both melodic and driving, ensuring that even the most experimental cosmic jams remain grounded in a "woody," organic feel. This versatility is vital to the band’s ability to transition seamlessly from intimate acoustic sets to high-energy, psychedelic rock shows.
Andrew Mohney
Drums, Percussion, backing vocals
Andrew Mohney is the engine room and sonic illustrator of Electric Blue Yonder. Known for his versatility and dynamic control, Andrew approaches the drums with a theatrical flair, using his background in rock and session percussion to punctuate the band’s storytelling. Rather than just keeping time, he navigates the group's frequent genre-shifts with a precision that mimics the "launch and landing" of a cinematic journey. While his return to the fold brought a newfound scale to their live performances, his precise, unwavering presence behind the kit has led to a persistent, quiet rumor among the fanbase that he might actually be a high-fidelity hologram.
